AOKI MERCHANDISE

The Challenge: AOKI, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the arts, needed to generate donations and secure regular patrons to sustain its mission. To incentivize supporters and build a lasting connection with them, AOKI wanted to create a collection of beautiful merchandise that not only represented the brand but also rewarded those who contributed to the organization’s efforts.

Collaborative Artwork: We partnered with artist Frances MacLeod to create an exclusive, frame-worthy postcard that was gifted to patrons who donated above a certain amount. This piece of art provided a tangible representation of the impact their support had on AOKI’s work.

Merchandise Design:
I designed a range of branded items, including bookmarks, pins, tote bags, and t-shirts. These items were created with AOKI’s brand in mind, using designs crafted by Anna Zajac to ensure consistency with the organization’s identity.

Photography & Styling: Once the merchandise was finalized, we coordinated a professional photoshoot to showcase the collection. Chelli Look of CHC led the photography, while Taylor Hansen Hughes provided models and styling, creating a visually cohesive and compelling presentation of the items.

The Process: We identified an opportunity to engage with potential patrons through thoughtfully designed merchandise that aligned with AOKI’s values and artistic mission. Working with a team of talented artists, designers, and photographers, we set out to create a collection of items that could serve both as keepsakes and expressions of support for the nonprofit.

The Results: The merchandise campaign not only attracted new patrons but also deepened connections with existing supporters, reinforcing their commitment to AOKI’s mission.

  • Increased Donations: The limited-edition postcard and thoughtfully designed merchandise were well-received, leading to a notable increase in both one-time donations and recurring patrons.

  • Brand Awareness: The high-quality imagery and cohesive branding helped elevate AOKI’s visual presence online and in marketing materials, positioning the nonprofit as a creative and community-driven organization.

  • Community Engagement: The campaign strengthened relationships with local artists and collaborators, expanding AOKI’s network and reinforcing its role in fostering artistic expression.

And Voila - the beautiful results below!
